Tapia Praises the Work of Lower Division Leaders in Argentina

The president of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Claudio 'Chiqui' Tapia, gave a speech in the lead-up to the draw for the Primera Nacional, in which he highlighted the work of the leaders of the lower divisions, both in sporting development and in the social role that the clubs play across the country. According to the Argentine News Agency, the head of the AFA emphasized that the start of each season represents 'the beginning of dreams' for clubs, fans, and leaders, and highlighted the adrenaline generated by the fight for promotion, the central objective for those competing in these categories. In this sense, Tapia stressed the evolution of the lower divisions in recent years and stated that they are now much more professional: 'Leading a club in these categories is very difficult: the same resources are not generated as in the League, everything is sacrifice, vocation, and effort.' The president of the AFA also valued the joint work between the main body and the institutions from the interior, emphasizing the search for greater opportunities, visibility, and better conditions, both sporting and infrastructural, as well as the recognition of audiovisual rights. Finally, Tapia stated that those who started their journey in the lower divisions know firsthand the difficulties these clubs face and asked for their daily work to be recognized.
